FIGBA FIESTAG 2016, Malapit na!

Taun-taon ay pasigla nang pasigla ang industriya ng sabong sa Pilipinas dahil sa pagdami ng mga gamefowl expo. Kabilang na rito ang FIESTAG na taung-taong isinasagawa ng Federation of International Gamefowl Breeders (dating National Gamefowl Breeders Association, Inc.).

Ngayong taon ang FIESTAG ay gaganapin sa World Trade Center mula Agosto 19-21. Magbubukas ng alas-diyes ng umaga at magsasara sa alas-siyete ng gabi.

Gaya nang dati ay magiging kapana-panabik na ang FIESTAG. Mas lalo itong lumaki ngayong taon dahil mula sa SMEX, MOA ay gaganapin na nga ang venue sa World Trade Center na pinagdadausan din ng World Gamefowl Expo. Magtitipun-tipon sa event ang iba't ibang mga breeder sa Pilipinas para maibahagi ang iniingatan nilang bloodline. Magkakaroon din ng showcase ng gamefowl products ang iba't ibang kumpanya. Bukod dito ay magkakaroon din sila ng gimik sa kani-kanilang booth kabilang na ang pagpapa-raffle ng mga manok.

Bukod sa mga nabanggit na, magkakaroon din ng auction ng manok at seminar hinggil sa pag-aalaga at pagbabantay sa kalusugan ng manok. Siyempre, 'di rin mawawala ang Bitawang Bayan kung saan ay malayang makakapagbitaw ang mga sabungero ng kanilang nabiling manok sa set up na ruweda. Mag-i-enjoy din ang mga dadalo dahil maraming mga naggagandahang modelo ang makikita sa loob ng venue.

MLG63, Nag-Solo Champion sa World Slasher Cup-2 8-Cock Invitational Derby 2016

 
       Gaya nang dati ay naging kapana-panabik ang katatapos lang na World Slasher Cup-2 8-Cock Invitational Derby 2016 na sinasalihan ng malalaking gamefowl breeders, mapa-Pinoy man o dayuhan.

Punung-puno ito ng aksyon at magagandang laban. Sa ikalawang edisyon nang naturang paligsahan, itinanghal na solo champion ang entry na ML G63 na pinagtambalan nina Magno Lim at Danny Soriano. Nakakuha sila ng score na 7.5 points.

Nakatapat ng MLG63 sa kanilang huling laban ang entry Manila Teachers Partylist nina VG Lacson at Juris Sucro. Bago ang naturang tapatan, nakakuha ng 6 points ang kanilang katunggali. Tinalo nga lang sila ng Sagupaan Mitefree nang makatapat nila ito sa ika-20 sultada.

Ang grand finals ng World Slasher Cup-2 ay nagkaroon ng 32 sultada kung saan lima ang nakapasok na may score na 3.5 points kabilang na rito ang nagkampeon na grupo. Samantala, labing-isa naman ang pumasok na may score na 4 points.

Ang katatapos lang na prestihiyosong derby ay nilahukan ng 260 entries. Ito ay ginanap sa may Smart Araneta Coliseum mula May 26 hanggang June 1 at insponsoran ng Thunderbird, B-Meg Integra, Petron at ng Red Bull Energy Drink.

2016 World Slasher Cup-2 opens Thursday

With roughly 260 entries, the much-awaited 2016 World Slasher Cup-2 8-Cock Invitational Derby takes center stage at the Smart Araneta Coliseuum starting Thursday, May 26, as a fitting sequel to the record-setting 2016 World Slasher Cup-1 last January with 410 registered entries.

The first set of competitors, composed of an estimated 135 foreign and local entries, collide against each on Day One at 10 a.m.

The powerhouse homegrown team will parade a line-up of world champion such as reigning World Slasher Cup-1 victors Blue Blade Farm led by Engr. Sonny Lagon, and Phoenix II comprised of Mario Villamor, Ed Apari and Atty. Art de Castro.

Atty. Dennny Salazar, one of the champions from the 2015 World Slasher Cup-2, also guns for a back-to-back title in what is known as the "Olympics of Cockfighting."

Also participating are WSC-2 champions Eddie Bong Plaza and Arjay Mea; January 2015 solo champ AAO Hyper B-12 owned by Gerry Ramos and Noel Jarin, who have split their entries for this derby; three-time champions Rey Briones, Dicky Lim, anf Patrick Antonio; regulars and former champs Nene Araneta, Vergil 'Ali" Intino, and Ito Ynares; and a lot more.

The derby's second edition brings foreign participants from USA, Australia, and Indonesia to the Big Dome. American delegates include Slasher contenders Ray Alexander, Damon Yorkman, and Greg Berin, among others.

The 2016 World Slasher Cup-2 8-Cock Invitational Derby continues Friday with the second half of the participants going on a head-on collision. The 2-cock semi-finals are set on May 28 & 29. On May 30 & 31, those with scores of 2, 2.5 and 3 points will slug it out in the 4-cock pre-finals.

Sponsored by Thunderbird, B-Meg, Petron, Red Bull, with media partners Manila Broadcasting Corporation, the 4-cock grand finals take center stage on June 1 wherein all undefeated entries with scores of 3.5 or 4 points will face off in the championship.

Phoenix- II and Blue Blade Farm AA (Back-to-Back Champion of World Slasher Cup 1st Edition 2016

 

      As what we had expected, the  recently finished World Slasher Cup1-8 Cock International Derby  became exciting and full of thrill. It was held on January 30-Ferbruary 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Based on the record, more than 400 entries were joined in this one of the biggest derbies in the country.

On grand finals, two entries became champions. One is the Phoenix II owned by Mario Villamor, Ed Aparri and Atty. Art de Castro. Then, the other one was Blue Blade Farm AA owned by Engr. Sonny Lagon. Both entries shown an expectacular fights; their gamefowl chickens were really based on their performances.

Let us congratulate the team of Mario Villamor and Engr. Sonny Lagon for being the new champions in WSC which we considered as the olympic of cockfighting!

World Slasher Cup: Ang Pangarap Mong Derby!

Ang World Slasher Cup ang itinuturing na kauna-unahang international derby sa Pilipinas. Dalawang beses itong isagawa sa loob ng isang taon, kada-buwan ng Mayo at Hunyo. Pinamumunuan ito ni Nene Araneta na kilala ‘di lamang sa pagiging mahusay na business man kundi pati na rin sa kanyang pagkahilig sa manok. Ang World Slasher Cup ay dinadaluhan ng mga big na breeder, mapa-Pilipino man o mga foreigner. Isinasagawa ito sa Smart Araneta Coliseum na tumatagal sa loob ng isang linggo. Mula sa dating 8-cock ay naging 9-cock derby na ito. Ibig sabihin ay lalo itong lumalakas sa paglipas ng panahon.

                Ang presscon ng World Slasher Cup ay karaniwang isinasagawa sa may Gateway Mall at sa Balai, na malapit lang sa Farmers Plaza at katapat ng EDSA. Kung ikaw ay taga-media, nakatutuwang dumalo sa presscon dahil bitbit ni Nene Araneta ang ilang mga kinatawan sa Binibining Pilipinas na sumali na o sasali pa lang sa international beauty contest. Pinapahawak sila ng mga manok habang isinasagawa ang ritual ng World Slasher Cup, isang araw bago umpisahan ang naturang derby. Ilan lang sa mga regular na makikitang sumasali rito ay sina Dicky Lim, Nene Abello, Engr. Sonny Lagon, Boy Marzo, atbp.

                Noong una ay mga kilalang at mga bigtime na sabungero lang ang nananalo rito gaya nina Peping Cojuanco, Patrick Antonio, atbp. Pero buhat nang manalo si Rey Briones ng Spartan Gamefarm ay nagbago na ito. Nabigyan din ng pagkakataon ang iba na manalo. Ayon kasi kay Tata Rey ay nabibilang siya sa marginalized breeder at dahil sa World Slasher Cup ay talaga namang gumanda ang kanyang cockfighting career. Ang dating maliit niyang gamefarm ay napalaki niya. Napaikot niya nang husto ang kanyang naging premyo. At dahil sa marami na ang nakakakilala sa kanya ay marami ring bumibili ng kanyang mga manok. Pinatunayan niya na hindi lang tyamba ang kanyang pagkakapanalo dahil nanalo pa siya rito ng ilang beses.

                Bukod kay Tata Rey, nagwagi rin ang dati namang ‘di kilalang breeder na si Engr. Sonnie Magtibay ng Red Cobra Gamefarm. Bago ito ay naging financier siya ni Boy Tanyag ng CRB Gamefarm at nanalo sila sa Bakbakan. Dahil sa pagkakapanalo ni Engr. Magtibay ay kinuha pa siyang product endorser ng isang malaking kumpanya na gumagawa ng gamefowl feeds. Bagama’t ‘di na naulit pa ang kanyang pagkakapanalo sa World Slasher Cup, once na mag-champion ka sa isang prestige derby ay tatatak na ito sa isip ng marami at maituturing nang isang history. Marami na ring mga simpleng sabungero ang sumasali rito. Ang ginagawa nila kung hindi sila naghahanap ng financier ay nag-aambag-ambag sila ng pera. Hindi kasi biro ang pot money kapag sasalo ka rito kaya’t kailangan mo talagang maghagilap ng pondo. Pero sa mga bigtime na magsasabong, sisiw na lang ito. Kahit sino’ng sabungero ang tanungin mo, pangarap nilang maging champion sa World Slasher Cup!

SABAYAN 7-STAG DERBY, Ikinasa na!

      

Sadyang hindi tumitigil sa pag-iisip ang FIGBA (Federation of International Gamefowl Breeders Association), dating kilala sa tawag na NFGB (National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Association) kung paano makapagbibigay ng magandang laban sa mga sabungero. Maliban sa BAKBAKAN at Bullang-Bullang ay isa na namang malaking pasabong ang kanilang binuo. Ito ay ang SABAYAN PARA SA MASA 7-STAG DERBY.

 Ang SABAYAN ay tiyak na maiibigan ng masang magmamanok. Mababa lang kasi ang pot money na nagkakahalaga ng P5,000. Samantalang ang minimum bet lang ay P3,300. Sampung milyong piso ang nagsisilbi ritong guaranteed prize. Naiiba ang SABAYAN kumpara sa mga nauna nang pa-derby ng FIGBA. Hindi lang kasi iisa o iilan lang ang puwedeng magkampeon. Dahil ang bawat asosasyon na nasa ilalim ng pederasyon ay mabibigyan ng pagkakataon na manalo. 

Ang SABAYAN ay may format na 3-4. Magkakaroon ng 3-stag elimination ang bawat asosasyon sa kani-kanilang lugar. Ang mga kalahok na makakakuha ng puntos mula dalawa hanggang tatlo ay makakapasok sa 4-stag final. Sabay-sabay itong gagawin sa mapapagpasunduang sabungan ng mga asosasyon.

Ang FIGBA ay naitatag noong taong 2000 at kasalukuyang pinamumunuan ni Ricoy Palmares, Jr. Nagpalit sila ng pangalan dahil hindi lang Pilipinas ang nais nilang saklawin. Kasalukuyan na silang nakikipag-alyansa sa ating mga karatig-bansa. Katulad ng BAKBAKAN at Bullang-Bullang, inaasahang guguhit din ang SABAYAN sa kasaysayan ng sabong sa Pilipinas.

                        

The Philippine Poultry Show and Fiestag 2015 (Models)

         The Philippine Poultry Show and Fiestag is one of the biggest events in the game fowl industry. This year it was held from August 14-16 at SMEX, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. More than 200 exhibitors had been participated here and it was attended by thousands of game fowl enthusiast. The event became really exciting because the different local breeders showcased their chickens. So, the cockers can acquire stags and pullets from them. And of course, any event would not be exciting without the presence of the models. Gamefowl companies had their own models to represent their brands.

Enzo Altavas Viper Versus Adza Victor (World Slasher Cup 2015 2nd Edition the Final Battle)

Joey Sy and his partner Atty. Benny Salazar won in the World Slasher Cup 2015 Second edition championship which held at the Araneta Coliseum on May 18. This event is one of the most prestigious derby in the Philippines. They used Enzo Alatavas Viper as their entry name and two of entries had been entered in finals.  According to a report, the partners used Butcher Roundheads on their fights.

This is the first time that Joey Sy won in the World Slasher Cup. Now, his name will be included in the long list of the WSC champions. But no question, Joey Sy is already popular in the Philippine cockfighting scene. Aside from being a BAKBAKAN champion, he is also an officer of National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Inc, (NFGB) and the acting president of Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association (RGBA). Of course, he is a host of Bakbakan, a weekly sabong TV show which airs in IBC. So, again we should congratulate him and his partner!

Finally, the second edition  of World Slasher Cup has been finished and like in previous years, this big event gave thrill and excitement for those game fowl afficionados who watched it. And now, there is only one entry became a champion and that is the partnership of Bakbakan TV Show host Joey Sy with Atty. Benny Salazar. They got a perfect score. Based on a report, their two entries were entered in finals.

          Here we go, Cockers Today want to presents the second batch of World Gamefowl Expo 2015 beauties. If you attended the expo last Jan. 16-18 held at World Trade Center, for sure you had been enjoyed to the presence of these beautiful ladies. Aside from real chicks, cockfighters also love women or in coloquial word we also called them as chicks. But it  doesn’t mean that we are womanizer, right? We just appreciate beautiful things in the world and the best of it are women. According to the song, “Lonely is a man without love” or we can interpret it as life is boring without girls. LOL.

       Cockfighting is not just about gamefowl chicken; sometimes it also about girls. That’s why we love to attend such event this because we have oppurtunity to take a picture with them. It seems that models are also like celebrities. You can post your picture in social network if you want. So, your friends would envy of you.

Nerwin Ricohermoso, Winner of Bakbakan 2014

 
           Finally, the waiting for who’s be lucky person who will win in Bakbakan National 12-Stag Derby 2014 had been ended. Bakbakan is one of the biggest derby in the Philippines organized by the National Federation of the Gamefowl Breeders. Every year, the Bakbakan becomes bigger and bigger, 6,593 entries had been joined. The federation offered 55 million guaranteed prize including for the winners of this prestigious derby. On Dec. 4, Nerwin Ricohermoso of NJMAR Gamefarm and a member of Batangas Breeders Club became a solo-champion.

            Nerwin was undergone in a big challenge before he got the championship. As what we knew, many cocker-breeders are joining in this prestigous derby. In the grand finals, 40 entries with 7 straight win fought for the trophy including big-time breeders Patrick Antonio, Eddie Bong Plaza, Marlon Escolin, Vice Gov. Odi Fausto, etc. Some of them got 11 points, but they lose during this last fight. Nerwin was the only one who got a perfect score. So, let us congratulate this guy for being the new Bakbakan champion!

           Bantam derby is very popular in Northern Luzon especially in Pampanga. This is the territory of Bantam fighters. If you’re not already familiar with this, Bantam chickens are almost the same in terms of their fighting style. If there is a difference that is only about their heights. Mike Guiao of Imagine GF and Julz Lacap of War Machine with the cooperation of Bantameros Group decided to conduct a Bantam derby because during rainy season derbies are not often. And of course, they want to promote this kind of derby. Bantam chickens makes them happy and feel stronger.They can’t explain their feelings every time when they fight their Bantam in a cockpit arena.

PFGB Digmaan 10-Stag Pasabong-Pambansa Derby 2014

           The time is approaching very fast, two months from now the 2014 PFGB-Digmaan 10-Stag Pasabong-Pambansa Derby will be started on the first week of October.This is sponsored by Thunderbird, the biggest gamefowl feeds company in the Philippines. Recently, the PFGB officer was held a convention all of their officers with the president and representatives of their local associations. It was held on July 27-28 at Greenhills Elan Hotel in San Juan City, Metro Manila.

            In that convention, they served the program of PFGB and they gave an appointment papers to all of their officers. They also gave a certificate of membership to all of the association under PFGB. Aside from that, they discussed all the problems and grievances of their member. After that, they studied what would be their solution to solve the problem. Every participant had given a chance to speak up.

NFGB Fiestag 2014: A Celebration of Gamefowl Mania

          

               The National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, Inc. (NFGB), the maker of the biggest derby in the Philippines which is Bakbakan will bring an another exciting event for the gamefowl enthusiast. This time they will organize Fiestag 2014 or a fiesta of stags. If we remember, in previous years, the NFGB was already organized such an event like this. It was the Philippine Poultry and Gamefowl Congress. The only difference is it is only dedicated to the gamefowl, not with the native chickens.     

2014 WORLD SLASHER CUP - II INVITATIONAL 8 - COCK DERBY SLATED IN JUNE

It's Slasher fever again in the undisputed cockfighting center of the world as things heat up leading to the much-awaited 2014 World Slasher Cup-2 Invitational 8-Cock Derby set on June 2 - 8 at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Hosted by the Pinataksi of Champions with Univet Thunderbird, Sagupaan Complexor 3000, Supremo Feeds, B-Meg and Petron as sponsors, the 6-day event will again adopt a 2-2-4 format with two separate 2-cock eliminations on June 2 & 3; two separate 2-cock semis on June 4 & 5 followed by the 4-cock finals for entries with 2, 2.5 & 3 points on June 7 and capped with the 4-cock grand finals on June 8 amongst all undefeated bets with 3.5 or 4 points apiece.
